1) I think yoko wants to help Mr.Niado because she wants to help him with his stuttering. And he in return gives her paper pencil and other school supplies. But what theu do have in common is that they are teased by the school girls. But they are both jind at each other, he sells cans for yoko and yoko provides him company and help him with his stuttering. By this yoko doesn't have to buy school supplies with her money, and Mr.Niado comforts her by saying her father and Hideyo will come home.
2) Yoko is respecting ko more because she saw Ko shining shoes for money, and now she is proud that ko is making that sacrifice to support Yoko and her. She si being nicer to ko and is now regreting of thinking that ko was so bossy and no she is grateful because she realized that ko is trying to act like mother so she could look out for yoko. Since Ko was doing that yoko is now admiring Yoko.
3) Why until now has Mrs. Masuda have offered to help Ko and yoko?
I think it is because she was feeling sad that they were sleeping at the station and now that thier mother died and they noe else to look after them she let them stay in the ware house. Also for them to look out for thieves.

1. I thought that as well, and you pointed out some things I hadn't noticed that much, such as the supplies and the comforting that Hideyo and father will make it.
2. I agree that Yoko is respecting her honorable sister more, as she should. Also, they are a lot closer and they can work together to survive.
3. I think that at first, she didn't notice, but then she saw that her warehouse was unguarded and that they needed a home. I guess she was thinking two birds, one stone. (Also, I don't like to kill birds. At first, I thought it meant that two birds could rest on one stone. =P)
1.) I agree with you. I think they helped eachother equally and that they both learned something from eachother.
2.) Yoko has changed a lot since seeing Ko shinning mans shoes, and I think she has changed in a good way. The only bad thing is that Ko is keeping it a secret from yoko wich isn't a very good thing.
3.) I also think that. Mrs. Masuda is a very kind woman and so is her husband.
1 Yoko is a good person she helps Mr. naido because her father knew hoe to help someone so that they didint stutter anymore and i think thats what shes doing for mr. Naido

1. I agree. I think they help each other. Like bestfriends do. You learn something. You keep them. And you stay with them.
2. I thin that Yoko is learning to respect Ko. because she knows what postion their both in.

1. I agree they are both getting teased and they do have some thing in common they like helping eachother yoko helps mr. Niado by speaking slowly for his stuttering and mr. Niado helps yoko with school wich is very generous.
2. I agree because she was thnking that ko was mean bossy and snotty but now since she see's her getting down on her knees to shine shoes I think that she is more gratful to ko now.
3. I think this because first they had sombody to be with for instance an adult and she felt sad and sorry for them and esscpecaully when mother died because now they have nobody accept eachother that is why.
