TKAM Jounal #6: Perspective of Mayella Ewell

There I was one night doing my regular day chores when I saw Tom Robinson he was walking past our house like he did every day. This time was different because I had to chop up a old chiffarobe that my papa left me as chores for the evening since i was the oldest Ewell out of the kids in this family. I told that negro I had a job for him so he came over, I told him i would give him a nickel if he would chop up that old chiffarobe for me. So I went inside to go fetch the nickel I promised to that negro, I was oblivious that he was inside my house until that dirty animal jumped on me, I tried to fight him off but he was stealthy that is when he started to beat me, I tried to fight back with all my strength but he was too strong he kept hitting me all over until I was encumbered and I kept on screaming for help since he already had started taking advantage of me, it must of been a short time till my papa came because heard him rushing to the window. He saw what was happening so he rushed to the door and that was when the negro ran away I was relieved and I started to faint my papa was hollering at me who he was but I just fainted. When I woke up I saw Mr. Tate and my papa were dragging me to the water bucket. Te next day they Mr.Tate was asking me questions and we finally came to a conclusion that Tom Robinson raped me. I couldn't forget a face of someone who would commit a crime like that. Then now on present days at the court I said everything that I could remembered that happened so I hope they lock that devil negro in bars. That Mr.Finch should also go to for representing a rapist, Ialso didn't know where he was going at because he was asking me irrelevat questions That defendant should not even have the right to go through the court synstem.

I like how you told it from the perspective of Mayella the day it happened. I think it is better told that way than from what she was saying in court. But I think that you could've included more of what had happened in court. I also like how you wrote how Mayella would call Tom Robinson, and her opinion of Atticus.
