TKAM Journal #3 (8-9): Perspective of Miss Maudi

I awoke that day adjacent to my window, I was petrified by the sight I saw when I awoke. It seemed that all of Maycomb was covered by snow clouds. Not long after I awoke I heard those two kids. Jem and Scout Finch were banging at my door. I answered to find them asking for the most useless thing on my lawn. They were all fanatical about asking me if they could have the snow on my law. I thought it was a blessing that they were removing that stuff from my beautiful lawn. I had to warn them not to step or ruin my azaleas. I asked those kids what they were going to do with my snow but they grinned and said you'll see. The next day the bitter weather continued so I had to go outside and try to isolate my flowers from the cold weather because they could freeze and whither to a useless plant. While I was out I saw the thing that Jem and Scout were building, they made a snowman and a pretty good one since there wasn't that much snow. If I didn't know any better I would say it looked a lot like Mr. Avery, the next following day were pretty cold so i lit most of the fire places. I woke in the middle of the night to a flash of light then I realized it was to hot in side my house so when I ran down the stairs there was the origin of the fire, as soon as I stopped to think I ran straight outside yelling " Fire!, Fire!". That woke the whole neighborhood and soon all young men where helping me take all my things out of my house before the fire spreaded everywhere. Atticus was already helping me by taking out some furniture, the firetrucks were late since the weather had them frozen to the ground but the perplexity of the fire was people were waiting on the firetrucks which arrived by being pushed by crowds of men and soon enough after a while the fire was out. I could Jem and Scout Finch huddling together watching the fire and debating on what had started it. by the afternoon of the next day I got all my stuff set in Stephanie Crawford's house, I was just outside on my once beautiful lawn looking at the ruins that were once my house. Jem and Scout Finch came to my house and asked questions like what I would do now but i liked the idea of starting new, a smaller house, and a bigger lawn once Jem left with a puzzled look from my answer Scout Finch was still, until I broke the ice about saying that she had a run in with Aurthor Radley and that if she only turned around she would have saw him.
