TKAM Journal #4: Perspective of Heck Tate
I just got back to the Sheriff's department from patrolling a neighborhood when I got an emergency call from Atticus Finch, it was about his maid Calpurnia calling him about seeing a mad dog. I didn't really believe the call because it was February and mad dogs usually come in August but as my job I had to take every call as an emergency, especially if it was from an old friend like Atticus. I went to go pick up Atticus in my sheriff's car from his office we hurried down to the neighborhood the mad dog had been spotted because they can kill children and even adults if not approached with caution. Luckily Atticus was telling me all the details and luckily it seemed that the dog was in the dazed stage so it would be a little while until it goes attacking people. We finally reached the place and Calpurnia was there waiting with Atticus's kids, they were waiting by the Radley place. We waited until the dog showed up, and no doubt about the dog was fitting the symptoms, he had just to walk in a straight line until he would start attacking. Atticus had told Calpurnia and the kids to go in. We were waiting till the dog turned until he walked in a straight so we could make sure. It turned out to be Harry Johnson's dog. Tim Johnson. I kind of felt sorry that we had to kill the dog since that is mostly what Harry Johnson had left. The dog was waking in a straight line so the time had come to kill it, I was thinking what would happen if I missed, it might jump start the dog to go on a rampage and won't be still enough to shoot it down, Atticus asked me what was wrong but he already knew so I told him to shoot it, he first refused but he was the only pone her who could take it out in one shot, because he was the Ol' One Shot. I had to throw the gun at him so he could hold it. He hesitated so I told him there wasn't much time left so he calmed down and took the stance of Ol' One Shot and took the shot. For the moment you could hear the shot and the yelp the dog made as the bullet made contact. I went over there and it was a clean head shot. I was amazed how he still kept his talent, people in the streets cheered calling him Ol" One Shot Finch, couple minutes later, animal control came took the dog and sterilized the spot where Tim Johnson died. I thanked Atticus and went back to my Sheriff's department thinking about the old days where Atticus would be obsessed at hitting targets straight on and how those days passed on.

I like how you described it through the Sheriff's eyes becuase it really made it more interesting. I also how you explained how Atticus was Ol' One Shot, becuase that is an important detail.
